POLICY & PROTOCOLS
Noel is looking forward to working with you and your canine pal. In these uncertain times, caused by the Covid-19 virus, we must be willing to make adjustments, generating contingency plans, allowing us to live full and exciting lives, yet providing safe environments for work and play.
Noel Pepin Canine has developed a set of protocols to allow you to have fun with your dog, to teach them positive skills, and to feel comfortable about your personal safety.
GROUP CLASSES – ORGANIZATION AND PROTOCOLS
Noel Pepin Canine will provide indoor group classes at the Columbus Community Center in College Heights, and the Eagles Hall in the Hart. The weather is starting to cool and the days shorten, and our move to indoor classes will require some structural changes. We will limit class size to 12 dogs and handlers. We would prefer if only one handler per dog attended, but understand that in some cases couples would like or need to attend.
I want this to be a great experience for you and your dogs. In these times of Covid 19 we are encouraging you to follow some guidelines.
We will have both cloth and disposable masks available to participants. If you wish to take a cloth reusable mask with our logo on them, we are asking for a 6.00 donation. If you wish to take a paper disposable mask we are asking for a toonie donation. Any mask proceeds we receive will to donated to a local charity or Covid related relief effort. If you need a mask, but are unable to purchase one, they are free.
We encourage you to use a mask when participating in training activities where social distancing is difficult. When going through the agility course, and during the dog socialization activities, we encourage you to ‘mask up’ because you may find yourself in close contact with other owners and their dogs.
PRIVATE CLASSES– ORGANIZATION AND PROTOCOLS
Noel Pepin Canine will continue to provide four, private 30-minute classes. These classes will be held at my Indoor Training Office near the airport—7590 Chilako Road. Sessions will be booked to suit your schedule. We encourage all trainers to wear masks, especially when participating in training exercises where social distancing is not practical.
PRIVATE CONSULTS – ORGANIZATION AND PROTOCOLS
Noel Pepin Canine will continue to help clients with their specific dog training issues. All private consults will be done at my Training Office near the airport. Sessions will be booked to suit your schedule. We encourage all participants to wear masks, especially when performing training exercises where social distancing is not practical.
NEW ON-LINE EDUCATION PROGRAMS – ORGANIZATION AND PROTOCOLS
Noel Pepin Canine has been working with AscenTech Solutions and Shift Creative, to develop Distance Education Programs for Puppy and Beginner Obedience, and Tracking.
Online virtual courses will provide lessons you can do in your own home. All you will need is a computer and a hungry dog. The lessons will present videos of each exercise, showing dogs modeling the intended skills and behaviours. You will be able to book video chat sessions with Noel, to discuss training ideas or concerns specific to your dog. We will launch this project with our test groups in the first week of October. We expect to make it available for general purchase by November 1, 2020 .
If you have any other suggestions or concerns, please contact me!
Respectfully,
Noel Pepin
